I don’t know about you, but I’m up for a new year.
Not because last year was so bad – though it certainly had its moments. I lost some very special family members. It was a very sad year. And also, winds of change seem to be blowing into my world. And I am glad.
Guilt is slowly leaving the scene. Gentler care is arriving in its place. I’m learning to let things land where they land. I’m trusting that not everything needs my fixing, my carrying, or my responsibility. What belongs to me, I hold with tenderness and care. What belongs elsewhere, I’m learning to return with respect and quiet.
The Sacred Way was a gift this past year. We built community around topics we don’t usually sit around and readily talk about. What emerged went far beyond what I imagined. Relationships deepened. Sharing was real. We found ourselves in one another. We processed spiritual hurt and witnessed healing. We entered dark griefs and came out closer—to ourselves and to each other.
It was rich, holy work. I am deeply honored to have been with you all in these ways.
As we move into this new year, I want to keep creating spaces for meaningful conversatio, places where we can stretch, grow, and become more fully ourselves. I’m always up for conversations in my office, and for creating art together at our monthly Art Way gatherings, held on the second Friday of each month.
Beginning in mid-January, I’m also planning another Sacred Way. This one will focus on being fully alive and fully in touch with pleasure through our sexuality. We’ll journey through Missionary Position by Celeste Holbrook, alongside somatic practices, writing, art, and reflection. I’ll be joined by Martha Nieto Friend, art, marriage, family, and sex therapist (and my dear friend!) as we co-lead this work together. If you have questions or curiosity, I would love to talk with you about it.
In the meantime, I hope you will be able to see where your winds are blowing you into this new year. I love meeting wtih you and seeing into your unfolding, evolving grand story. It is the greatest privilege of my life to walk with each of you and to imagine what new wants to come for your good and for the good of your presence in this world.
